Welcome to the new Championship Website of the Byte Class International Association. More and more, competitors, their friends, families and supporters look for an up-to-date source of good information both before and during their major National, Continental and World Championship regattas. It is often hard to find and, sometimes, does not exist if the local Organizing Authority has not built a Website for the event or does not have current information on its own site. The Websites that are built are usually done by hardworking volunteers, in their spare time, but we cannot expect them to be the really comprehensive presentation that is now looked for.
With this site we are changing all that. It is a database-driven Website that will be available to Organizing Committees. They will have access to the site to build and manage their own event within the template we have established and without the need to reinvent the wheel. Competitors will also have access to the site, through their password, to update or edit their profiles stored in the database.
The "wheel" was designed and developed by Paul White, one of Montreal's leading sailors, with the assistance (mostly encouragement!) of Ian Bruce, the Byte's designer and the support of the NA builder, PS2000 Inc.
